The most important titles that Councilwoman Demetrus Coonrod will ever hold are "mom" and "proud grandmother." Coonrod the oldest of four children, grew up in a working-class family in East Chattanooga. She's risen from humble beginnings, including a felony conviction, to live a purposeful life of service in a city she's proud to call home.
